Story spoilers ahead! (Image credit: Electronic Arts) EA isn't offering early access to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order over fears of spoilers, but it hasn't ended up making a difference—dataminers have still managed to root around in the game files and discover plenty, including some story spoilers, so if you want to go in fresh, turn back now! Collected on Reddit by TheMastersSkywalker, the leaks include a video showing off Cal's combat skills and Force powers, some of which we've seen before. You can see a list of Cal's moves, from leaps and evades to deflecting blaster bolts. He can also get his hands on a double-bladed lightsaber, which he'll be able to switch to mid-combo.  On his galactic jaunt, Cal will visit Bogano, Zeffo, Kashyyyk, Datho

Sonic the Hedgehog is back, with a new look and fewer human teeth

Apparently it wasn't meant to be a horror movie. Sonic the Hedgehog's new trailer is here, unveiling a more palatable version of Sonic that won't haunt your nightmares for the rest of your life. Gone are the human teeth—thank god—and the creepy, realistic nose and beady eyes. It's a big improvement. New Sonic: is broadly Sonic shaped.(Image credit: Paramount Pictures) Old Sonic: an eldritch horror that will consume your soul.(Image credit: Paramount Pictures) Originally due out this year, the reaction to the first trailer and Sonic's horrifying new look was so overwhelmingly negative that it was delayed until 2020 to give the studio time to redesign the blue monster.   Jim Carrey still looks like he should be tying women to railroad tracks, but it's not a look I'm e

This solid gold Monster Hunter statue is officially licensed and costs a mere $80,000

Breaking News, News
If you think gold is gaudy, a platinum figurine is also available, also for 80 grand. We checked out some Monster Hunter figurines last year, shortly after Monster Hunter: World made its way to PC, and some of them were pretty sweet. But none of them are anywhere as sweet—or maybe "grotesquely ostentatious" is the term I'm really looking for—as the 24k Gold Rathian statuette, and the Silver Rathalos constructed of platinum, offered by Japanese collectible manufacturer U-Treasure. Hypebeast shared photos of the statues on Instgram, while Google-translated details are available on the U-Treasure site. The Gold Rathian measures approximately 15.5 by 11 cm, stands roughly 7.5 cm in height, and weighs about 600g, while the Silver Rathalos is 15x15x7.5 cm and weighs a

Fortnite gets a custom Remembrance Day island to memorialize Canada’s war dead

The Royal Canadian Legion commissioned Remembrance Island to help it connect with younger generations. (Image Credit: Epic Games) November 11 is observed as Remembrance Day by Commonwealth member states as a time to commemorate the sacrifices of soldiers who died in the line of duty. But memories fade, and as the horrors of industrial-scale conflicts grow distant, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep younger generations, who have never experienced it, interested and invested. To help reinvigorate that connection with history, the Royal Canadian Legion commissioned Remembrance Island, a custom map available in Fortnite Creative Mode. The map, made at no cost to the Legion by Fortnite creator Jadan Allen, has no combat: Instead, players can explore a deserted beachhead, tren

No early access to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for Origin subscribers

Origin Access basic subscribers won't have access to a demo, either. (Image credit: EA) Electronic Arts commonly offers early access to its new games (like Battlefield 5, for instance) as a preorder bonus, and ten-hour trials to Origin Access basic subscribers. That will not be the case for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, however, as EA said that it doesn't want spoilers to leak out before everyone has a chance to get their hands on it. The lack of early access was actually confirmed a couple of weeks ago in a support thread, not exactly the highest-profile announcement channel available. Today's tweet is much harder to miss, and also hits on what you will get for preordering: An orange lightsaber blade, a Bee-D-1 skin, and two bonus lightsaber hilts with the standa

MSI is making a portable IPS gaming display with a 240Hz refresh rate

Asus has one on the horizon as well. (Image Credit: MSI) CES is already handing out awards for its upcoming event in January 2020, and as such, MSI is an innovation award honoree. It earned the designation for its upcoming Optix MAG161, a portable gaming display. Wondering what exactly that is? Think of it as a gaming laptop display, without the laptop. There aren't many details to go on, though according to the award page, it's "crafted as a small form factor with a slim 5mm vibrant 240Hz IPS panel." The award page also states it supports both USB Type-C and HDMI connections. El Chapuzas Informatico lists a few more details, saying it consists of a 15.6-inch panel with a 1920x1080 resolution and 3ms response time (gray-to-gray). I'm not sure where the site is getting i

Stadia launch games revealed

Games, News, PC, PlayStation, Xbox
Google's streaming system will have 12 games at launch and will add 14 more by the end of the year. (Image credit: Google) Google has revealed the games that will be available on Stadia when the system goes live on November 19. The game streaming service will get rolling with 12 "carefully-chosen games" on launch day, and 14 more are expected to be added by the end of 2019. It's not what I'd call an overwhelmingly impressive list. Odyssey, Destiny 2, and the Tomb Raider games are all blockbusters, but they've also been around for awhile, and the same could be said for RDR2, even though it's new on PC—and, it bears mentioning, is having some issues in the transition. Google has previously confirmed more than 40 games for Stadia and while most won't even be

This RGB memory kit runs faster in certain Gigabyte Aorus motherboards

In certain Aorus motherboards, Gigabyte's newest DDR4-3600 kit can boost to 3733MHz. Gigabyte has added an interesting feature to its newest Aorus RGB memory kit, one that allows it to run faster in certain motherboards with minimal fuss. It's called "Aorus Boost," and it gives users up to a 4 percent bump in performance. Even without the boost feature, Gigabyte's new 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600 memory kit is the fastest one it has released so far. At 3600MHz, the timings are configured at 18-19-19-39, according to the RAM's main product page and Gigabyte's press release. (Curiously, the specifications section lists slightly higher timings—19-19-19-43 on Intel platforms and 20-19-19-43 on Ryzen configs, so go figure.) It's the boost feature that is somewhat interesting, tho

Wattam, a weird new game from the creator of Katamari Damacy, hits PC next month

Make friends with sushi. What is Wattam? Good question. Looking at the screenshots it's hard to tell, but San Francisco-based developer Funomena describes it as "a game about the joys of friendship and discovery", which sounds delightful. This is the latest thing to emerge from the colourful imagination of Keita Takahashi, a Japanese game designer who is perhaps best known for his work on the glorious Katamari Damacy series. Oh no, the theme is stuck in my head again. Wattam is designed to be played both solo and in co-op, letting players instantly pop in and out of multiplayer mode. As you play you'll apparently make friends with sushi, giant trees, and, er, toilets. I'm most enamoured by the description of the game as "the ultimate goof-around simulator." Players wi

Tea is the answer to everything, in life, and in this free visual novel

Brew can play at that game. (Image credit: npckc) Here's a free visual novel where you run a booze-free tavern, situated on the border between the human and demon realms. As human or demon customers come inside, you have to prepare each an appropriate cup of tea. A brew that will, for example, calm them down, or give them an infusion of energy, depending on the particular ingredients it's made from. A Tavern For Tea is a handsomely drawn visual novel, where the talking is punctuated every so often by a tea-making minigame. In order to continue the story, you'll need to a) listen to what the customer has asked for, and b) pick the right three ingredients to chuck in the tea pot. That might sound easy, but the rules for brewing aren't explained as well as they could be (it...
