Story spoilers ahead! (Image credit: Electronic Arts) EA isn't offering early access to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order over fears of spoilers, but it hasn't ended up making a difference—dataminers have still managed to root around in the game files and discover plenty, including some story spoilers, so if you want to go in fresh, turn back now! Collected on Reddit by TheMastersSkywalker, the leaks include a video showing off Cal's combat skills and Force powers, some of which we've seen before. You can see a list of Cal's moves, from leaps and evades to deflecting blaster bolts. He can also get his hands on a double-bladed lightsaber, which he'll be able to switch to mid-combo.  On his galactic jaunt, Cal will visit Bogano, Zeffo, Kashyyyk, Datho

Sonic the Hedgehog is back, with a new look and fewer human teeth

Apparently it wasn't meant to be a horror movie. Sonic the Hedgehog's new trailer is here, unveiling a more palatable version of Sonic that won't haunt your nightmares for the rest of your life. Gone are the human teeth—thank god—and the creepy, realistic nose and beady eyes. It's a big improvement. New Sonic: is broadly Sonic shaped.(Image credit: Paramount Pictures) Old Sonic: an eldritch horror that will consume your soul.(Image credit: Paramount Pictures) Originally due out this year, the reaction to the first trailer and Sonic's horrifying new look was so overwhelmingly negative that it was delayed until 2020 to give the studio time to redesign the blue monster.   Jim Carrey still looks like he should be tying women to railroad tracks, but it's not a look I'm e

Fortnite gets a custom Remembrance Day island to memorialize Canada’s war dead

The Royal Canadian Legion commissioned Remembrance Island to help it connect with younger generations. (Image Credit: Epic Games) November 11 is observed as Remembrance Day by Commonwealth member states as a time to commemorate the sacrifices of soldiers who died in the line of duty. But memories fade, and as the horrors of industrial-scale conflicts grow distant, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep younger generations, who have never experienced it, interested and invested. To help reinvigorate that connection with history, the Royal Canadian Legion commissioned Remembrance Island, a custom map available in Fortnite Creative Mode. The map, made at no cost to the Legion by Fortnite creator Jadan Allen, has no combat: Instead, players can explore a deserted beachhead, tren

No early access to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for Origin subscribers

Origin Access basic subscribers won't have access to a demo, either. (Image credit: EA) Electronic Arts commonly offers early access to its new games (like Battlefield 5, for instance) as a preorder bonus, and ten-hour trials to Origin Access basic subscribers. That will not be the case for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, however, as EA said that it doesn't want spoilers to leak out before everyone has a chance to get their hands on it. The lack of early access was actually confirmed a couple of weeks ago in a support thread, not exactly the highest-profile announcement channel available. Today's tweet is much harder to miss, and also hits on what you will get for preordering: An orange lightsaber blade, a Bee-D-1 skin, and two bonus lightsaber hilts with the standa
Stadia launch games revealed

Stadia launch games revealed

Google's streaming system will have 12 games at launch and will add 14 more by the end of the year. (Image credit: Google) Google has revealed the games that will be available on Stadia when the system goes live on November 19. The game streaming service will get rolling with 12 "carefully-chosen games" on launch day, and 14 more are expected to be added by the end of 2019. It's not what I'd call an overwhelmingly impressive list. Odyssey, Destiny 2, and the Tomb Raider games are all blockbusters, but they've also been around for awhile, and the same could be said for RDR2, even though it's new on PC—and, it bears mentioning, is having some issues in the transition. Google has previously confirmed more than 40 games for Stadia and while most won't even be

The beta begins on November 15th and you can throw your crown in the ring to try it. (Image credit: No More Robots, Brave At Night) Yes, Your Grace is a kingdom management game about making thankless decisions that will probably come back to bite you in your royal rear. I've spent more than my fair share of time with Reigns and Reigns: Her Majesty, unlocking secrets and achievements by being a terrible ruler and I imagine that Yes, Your Grace will let me be a similarly hapless and doomed monarch.  You'll reign from the throne room, hearing the requests of your advisers and subjects before dispensing policy for their problems. Naturally, resources are limited and you can't possibly help everyone. On top of that, "not everyone has the kingdom’s best interest

Check out 20 minutes of hack and slash Druid gameplay in Diablo 4

Shapeshifting is fast and furious and wolf summons happen automatically. Diablo 4 has finally been confirmed and although we don't have a release date yet, that isn't stopping Blizzard from showing off some pretty polished gameplay. Game Informer has already posted gameplay of the Sorceress and Barbarian classes, and have now tested out the Druid. In the video below you can see three Druid characters playing together alongside multiple wolf companions. Game Informer highlights how shapeshifting as a Druid feels fluid with attacks that kick off immediately as skills are triggered rather than hanging behind any transformation animation.  Also noted is a slight change in how the summoned wolf companions work. The animals are always present once the skill is unlocked, rath

Positive critical reception but lower sales leave Obsidian unsure of Pillars of Eternity's future. (Image credit: Obsidian Entertainment) In 2019, the name Obsidian has been inseparable from the studio's newly released action RPG The Outer Worlds. Many of us have made the unavoidable comparison to the studio's early work on Fallout: New Vegas. On Friday, Obsidian's studio design director Josh Sawyer answered a question on Tumblr regarding a return to the studio's other RPG series.  "Will there be a Pillars 3?" asks a user on Sawyer's profile. The answer is complicated, but the short version is that Sawyer, and likely Obsidian by extension, simply don't know yet. Despite acting as one of the leaders in what has felt like a resurgence in the popularity of classic RPGs alongside

Payday 2 development resumes after a rough year for Starbreeze

Best Games, Games, News, PC, PlayStation, Xbox
You know the drill. (Image credit: Starbreeze) Troubled Swedish publisher Starbreeze is apparently going back to what works, announcing today via Steam that Overkill's co-op heist shooter Payday 2 is returning to active development. The studio is re-branding the current 'ultimate' version of the game (which was meant to be the final release, live-action secret ending and all) as the Legacy Edition, and letting players buy DLC separately once more. This comes after a series of upheavals at Starbreeze, which the announcement is quite candid about. While Overkill (a subsidiary studio) hopes to release Payday 3 some time in 2022 or 2023, the plan seems to be to fall back on the studio's most popular game and a heist-hungry audience to make ends meet, now that parent company Starbr
